The Overland Track

Rest and recover with real home comforts and friendly hospitality after walking the Overland Track. Chalets with one, two and three bedrooms to suit one to eight persons and the Studios for one or two persons are just 5 km from the end of the Track at Lake St. Clair.

Couples will love either of the spa chalets, 'Clair' or 'William' where they can soak their tired muscles in the deep spa bath, enjoy a great sleep in Queen Size bed and transform their clothes with the washing machine & dryer - washing powder is provided.

Groups or families really appreciate the family chalets with private laundries and couples are charmed by the smaller chalets or the ‘great value’ Studios.

If you missed a pub night on the Track, just stroll about 700 metres to the Derwent Bridge Wilderness Hotel for their hearty meals, giant open fires and a yarn with fellow walkers from the Track over a game of snooker.

If you would like to leave luggage or vehicle to await your arrival off the Track storage is available and even your vehicle can be left if you wish to travel to Cradle Mountain on the Tassie Link buses or with friends. You can also consign luggage to Derwent Bridge on the Tassie Link buses to await your arrival at their depot.

On arrival at Cynthia Bay, please phone John or Louise on 6289 1000 and given our work commitment, will collect you from the visitors centre. Otherwise it is a 5km walk to the property. (An afternoon arrival is preferred.)

New information from Parks and Wildlife Service Tasmania

The Overland Track is Tasmania’s premier long distance track. It takes approximately six-day walking, travelling 65 kilometres through the heart of the Tasmanian Wilderness World Heritage Area. To ensure that the wilderness qualities of the Overland Track can be enjoyed by succeeding generations, a vision for the track and a new policy for managing the track were announced in May 2004. Walkers are required to walk the track from NORTH TO SOUTH during the peak walking season.

For further information about track bookings, please contact Parks and Wildlife Service Tasmania on 1300 135 315 or visit their website at www.overlandtrack.com.au.
